Danny Salles
DANNY is a writer/director/producer for television and theater. He directed the holiday movie, “The Christmas Thief" for ION TV and 4 seasons of the ABC hit comedy “The Middle”. He was showrunner and director on various comedic TV reality series: Joan Rivers’ “Joan and Melissa” (WeTV), “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” (Bravo, Emmy nomination), “Todrick” (MTV), and co-directed last year’s Emmy-winning “Recipe for Change” (YouTube). He has worked on a wide range of unscripted series from documentaries ("Prop Culture" on Disney+) to competition ("The Pop Game" on Lifetime and "I Want to Work for Diddy" on VH1) to comedy-hybrid ("The Joe Schmo Show" on Spike and "Faking the Video" which he created for MTV. He's also served as the show director for Jeffrey Katzenberg's annual WNDRCO multi-media event for the last 3 years.
For the stage, Danny co-wrote the book and lyrics and served as the associate director of the hit Off-Broadway musical, "Vape! The Grease Parody," currently running at Theater 555. Previously the show held a sold-out benefit concert at NY's Town Hall, starring Jackie Hoffman, Kerry Butler, James Carpinello, Ann Harada and Rachel Dratch. He directed the Off-Broadway musical “The Perfect Game,” and wrote book and lyrics and directed the musical comedy satire “The First Annual Trump Family Special” in LA and Off-Broadway starring Gina Gershon, and recently directed a reading of a new play, "Yesterday's Bread" with Mary Testa and Annie Golden. Danny currently serves as Director of Creative Development at production and theater management company Visceral Entertainment in Manhattan.
